MTBZone.com - Squilchucker Downhill 2002

-This year the Squilchucker was the final of 3 qualifying races for the Washington State Championship. The course did not represent the best terrain that Washington has to offer, but it is enjoyable to ride anyway. The top section features some off camber traverses with some small log drops into slippery, tight corners . The lower section (after the road gap) is more wide open with a few tight tree sections near the finish. The key to these lower sections is knowing how much to slow down because it's easy to carry too much speed entering the trees.

-Over 200 downhill racers showed up for the 2 run combined time format.

-Below is areminder to watch for deer springing across the road. Luckily the MTBZone.com staff vehicle was able to continue on to Wenatchee.
